Success is in the eye of the beholder...

“If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to clean our toilets Donald Trump?’

                                                                                                Kelly Osbourne / The View

It takes a lot….a whole lot, to ruffle my feathers.

As a Hispanic, I know firsthand what it’s like to be mistreated on account of being Latina. I know what is like to be ignored at restaurants, being paraded around the worst neighborhoods by a realtor that told me inner city living is where I belong, or have my daughter harassed at school for being Latina/American. I also know how to know keep my cool because contrary to popular believe, Latinos know better than to stoop down to some levels.

That said, I will be the first one to admit that cool got real hot this morning when I saw the video of Kelly Osbourne’s statement about Latinos in her show The View.

“If you kick every Latino out of this country, who is going to clean our toilets..?”

Yeah, my twitter answer was as far from my godly Christian nature as it could possibly get.  That was not planned, it just happened. And for the time being I will make absolutely no apologies about it. Why?

Because I have just about had it with those Americans who believe the only things Latinos are good for is cleaning toilets and being nannies and cooks. Nothing wrong with that! Except that when it is portrayed in a demeaning and degrading manner it is bound to upset a whole lot of people! And rightfully so!

Thanks to Hollywood, the only impression Americans have of Latinos is that of the low income, struggling immigrant who can only find work serving the American elite. I would like to find a movie that portrays Puertorricans, Mexicans, Bolivians, Argentinians, Peruvians etc, as something other than the live-in nanny or maid who does not speak English and whose name for some insane reason is always Consuelo! What the heck!

Well, since so many Americans have apparently missed the memo, let’s have a little history class to  bring them up to date!

LAW & POLITICS

Luis Munoz Marin – Puerto Rican poet, journalist, politician educated at Georgetown University in Washington, D.D. Founder of the Democratic Party in Puerto Rico.

Luis Munos Rivera – son of Luis Munoz Marin. Poet, journalist, politician and former Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico in Washington, D.C. (1910-1916) who obtained U.S. citizenship for Puerto Ricans. Died just before the Jones Bill was passed, which he fought for.

Mari Carmen Aponte – former Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs under former President Obama.

Sonia Sotomayor - First Hispanic Justice appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States!

SCIENCE & MEDICINE

Mario Molina – Mexican. Received the Nobel Prize in 1995 for his research on the effects of man-made compounds in the ozone layer.

Severo Ochoa – Spanish-American biochemist and molecular biologist co-awarded the Nobel Prize in Psychology for discovering the enzyme that enables the synthesis of RNA (for those of us with a background in Science you know what that is all about)

Bernardo Houssay – Argentinian. Another Nobel Prize recipient for his research on the role of the pituitary hormone in regulating blood sugar. (diabetic Americans owe a debt of gratitude to him for figuring out the best way to treat them!)

James Escalante – Bolivia.  Math educator. If you want to know more about him, watch the movie Stand and Deliver.

Dr. Helen Rodriguez Trias – Puerto Rican. First Latina president of the American Health Association.

Dr. Jorge Martinez Traval – Puerto Rico. Vascular Surgeon responsible for developing the groundbreaking procedure to treat abdominal aneurysms as ambulatory surgery instead of invasive and more dangerous procedure. I am lucky this will be the Doctor my father will see this week to treat his aneurysms.

THE ARTS

Juan Morel Campos – Puerto Rico. Composer. One of the most influential figures of the 19th century.

Rita Moreno – Puerto Rico. Actress whose credits include West Side Story, Singing in the Rain, Tennessee Williams Summer & Smoke

Raul Julia – Puerto Rico. Tony Award winner whose credits include Kiss of the Spider Woman, Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Addams Family

Julia de Burgos – Puerto Rico. Poet and journalist. One of the leading 20th century poets influenced by Pablo Neruda among others.

Francisco Oller – Painter. First Latin American impressionist.

As a side note, I will have everyone know this list does not begin to scratch the surface of the many accomplished Hispanics throughout history. But I do hope it opens the eyes of those who insist in labeling Hispanics as ‘good-for-nothing.’

Read it and weep Kelly.

After all...

“...the powers that be are ordained of God”

                                                                                                Romans 13:1

Yes, I changed my tune, and now I am [surprisingly] marching to the beat of a different drummer.

A year ago no one could have convinced me I would be rooting my heart out for Donald Trump the way I have been over the past several weeks. When Donald Trump announced his run for the White House back in July 2015, my first thought was ‘he’s crazy’. Surely he’s only doing it as a joke and to garner attention. I shrugged it off and laughed at the prospect thinking he’s making a fool out of himself and hoped that eventually he would just go away.  Unfortunately, he didn’t, and his foolishness was confirmed the moment he opened his mouth!

As a Hispanic female, sister of a handicap man, and whose parents never received a college degree, I literally felt every punch he threw out whenever he spoke in a degrading way about Latinos, handicaps, females, the elderly and the uneducated. EVERYTHING Donald Trump said affected me personally. And I was offended. The more he spoke the less I liked him. The less I liked him the more I just knew there was no way in this lifetime I would give him my vote, let alone my support.

Over the past year I have been unapologetically outspoken against Donald Trump, and the deep hesitancy I had about voting. I knew I would not be voting Democrat, but I also knew that if I voted at all I would not be going to the polls but rather someone would have had to drag me kicking and screaming! I simply could not stand the man, and for what is worth, I couldn’t stand the woman either!

On the one hand, I saw the arrogant, greedy businessman who is too proud to even admit he has ever faulted, therefore he has no reason to ever ask for forgiveness, and on the other hand the arrogant, greedy politician too proud to admit she’s ever done anything wrong even when the evidence is mounting right before her eyes and the word ‘guilty’ seem to hover over head like a flashing neon sign with arrows pointing at her!

I don’t think there is any way to separate the two in an effort to decide who is the better one.

It is now no secret that the only woman to have ever made it this far in a presidential election, has a proven track record of being a deceitful, conniving figure willing to do whatever it takes to achieve her ambitions, even if it costs someone’s life.

My rationale was sinking in, so much so that if I decided not to vote I could think of a million ways I could justify my stance. After all, both had given plenty of reason not to support them.

That was my mind, but my heart was a different story.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” Galatians 5:17

Is kind of hard to reconcile rebellion of any kind, or anger, when trying at the same time to please God. It’s even harder to try to reconcile how we think things should be while knowing all along that God is in control and has a purpose for everything.

In all honesty, I don’t think I asked God more than once to please show me who I should vote for during this election. That must have been the fastest prayer I have ever prayed and the most difficult. I hate to admit it but it was like pulling teeth without anesthesia. It hurt! It was more like grumbling through my teeth a very quick ‘GodpleasehelpmedothisAmen!

But who am I kidding!

‘For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest   it altogether.’  Psalm 139:4

No sooner I asked I began to be reminded in a daily and constant basis of who is in charge. Scriptures began flowing through my mind and before I knew it I could see the bigger picture.

Oh, we can argue this election is about us, about the supreme court justices, about the economy, about healthcare, about national security, the reasons are endless. But the truth is this election is just one part of a much larger platform in the grand scale of spiritual events scheduled to take place as the return of God draws near.

In the end, is not going to matter who wins the election. God already knows who the next president will be for He has already appointed him or her and has a purpose for doing so.

‘The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked   for the day of evil.’   Proverbs 16:4

There have been many times during the past year, where I have felt like Daniel the prophet being taken into captivity. I keep being reminded I don’t have to like it, I don’t even have to understand it, I just have to trust God, and pray.

No, Trump is not the polished, articulate, eloquent politician we have become accustomed to have in office. When I listen to him I tend to cringe thinking ‘oh dear, what is going to come out of his mouth next!’ In all honesty I don’t believe he has the experience or the knowledge to take on the highest office in our nation. Although he has been described by many in the evangelical community as a believer, a Christian, the truth is judging by what the bible says, even in that he comes rather short. No, I am not talking about ‘for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.’ I’m talking about ‘knowing them by their fruit’ and how difficult it is to see in him the Christian part of the believer he is supposed to be. Which is why so many evangelicals will firmly state that Trump does not represent them as a republican/conservative or a Christian leader. He simply has never behaved in public in a manner consistent with someone who knows The Lord.

But I know that this is all supposed to be happening exactly the way it is. Trump is like a curve ball nobody was expecting but God knew was coming. And I hope he hits a home run today.

Precisely because he has no idea what he’s doing, so when good things start happening the only way it can be explained is ‘by a miracle’ and God receives all the glory!

Truth be told, win or lose, we are living in the time of the end and everything in this nation and the world is shifting and aligning for that last great battle. And now more than ever, what our country needs is not a better president or a female president, because when everything is weight in the balance the one thing that’s lacking is not leadership, is repentance. What our country needs is a broken heart and a contrite spirit with which to turn from our evil ways and humbly seek His face so that our land may be healed!

And because of that, I cannot vote for or support an individual who disregards the sanctity of life and marriage, who advocates for the very things that God calls abominations, who is willing to eliminate the words ‘under God’ from our pledge of allegiance and is willing to increase our vulnerability to terrorism by holding the door opened to perpetrators while committing treason with everything entrusted to her. Someone who runs her campaign on the premises of helping women and children, yet does absolutely nothing when a female minor gets attacked backstage by the very person she invites to her rally.

Is time to crush the spirit of Jezebel!

May Trump prove to be a diamond in the rough and may he allow himself to be a vessel onto God!

God bless you and God bless America!

Why the Bible is my source of morality and useful guide for my life.

“Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

                                                                                                Psalm 119:105

I was born again Wednesday, August 7th, 2002 at approximately 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

My husband had taken our girls to the movies to see the sequel to Spy Kids which had just been released that day too, while I stayed home minding other household business.

I remember when I was 16 years old, coming home from school to my mother telling me that my favorite actress, Natalie Wood had died. I was so sad. I thought she was so pretty and talented and young! For some weird reason I told my mom that day that I thought I too would die young. I specifically told her I would die when I was 36. I don’t know why those words came out of my mouth, but I just had a feeling that would be the case. She was so upset with me when I said that.

That weird ‘prediction’ would stay with me throughout my 20s and 30s. I would think about it every now and then and wonder why I would think such thing. Then I turned 35 and felt the clock beginning to tick, for reasons other than childbearing! The closer I got to 36 the more anxious I would become! Then I turned 36 and I could not sleep until way past midnight! Right after the clock struck twelve I literally held my breath and thought ‘ok…I’m still here.’  I went to bed and the next day I woke up happy as can be, thinking ‘Thank God! It was a false alarm! I made it!’

But then I spent my entire 36th year of life with this constant thought on my mind of what would become of me when I died. Every morning on my way to take the girls to school, we had to cross a bridge, and every morning I would get stuck in traffic right over the water. And every single morning I would have the same thought, ‘what if something happens right now and my car plunges to the bottom of that river….where am I going to end up?’ That was my [annoying] thought day in and day out for a good part of a year.

I believed in God, I went to church, I read the bible, I prayed, and yet none of those things ever made me feel secured. There was still a great doubt of where exactly I would spend my eternity. I was frustrated and I was scared. I couldn’t understand why I had such void.

Growing up my life was a mixture of rituals and idolatry. Saturday’s we would go to my mom’s house to visit her family, where we would witness her mother and sisters gathering at their personal altar hidden in a room, full of images that even the catholic church wouldn’t recognize, or visiting the local tarot card reader to find out what the future would bring. Then Sunday morning we would go to the cathedral to hear the mass given by the priests. Wednesdays was rosary day and if it was the first of the month that meant it was the children’s turn to recite the prayers in front of the images.

I actually hated doing all of that. I hated being in a room full of creepy images, I hated standing in front of statutes repeating ‘prayers’, I hated being around the psychics. And is not like I was a teenager suffering from the usual puberty related rebellion. No, I was younger than nine years old and already knew there was something terribly wrong with what I was doing.

“Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusts in them.” Psalm 115:4-8

I was a spiritually hungry soul at a very early age, and even though I did not understand many things, deep down I knew that the hunger and the thirst I suffered from would not be filled by any of the elements I had been exposed to at that time.

It would be years, many years, before I would finally recognize and accept Jesus as my savior and surrender my life to Him. See, it didn’t matter where I went to church, or how often, whether or not I read the bible (because at the time I really didn’t understand it either) or if I prayed, since half the time I wasn’t even praying to God. It mattered that I did not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Until that day I lived in a tug of war between the flesh and the spirit.

God is not interested in religion….

God is interested in a relationship!

And God wouldn’t give up on me.

One day I had a dream I was sitting on the steps of my old elementary school, but instead of the usual setting of parking lots and playgrounds it was an ocean. Its waters were raging back and forth and a storm was in the sky. Then it stopped. Everything became calmed. And then I heard a voice saying to me ‘you have to put your life in order’

I’ll never forget that dream. It was as if one of my parents was lovingly chastising me and gently encouraging me to get my act together!

But every child needs correction more than once, and one dream wasn’t enough to make me want to quit my unrighteousness. Sometimes it takes life taking us in a good, out of control, downward spiral before we can finally make the effort to look up! I was drowning, and didn’t know how to swim in such deep waters. I needed a life guard.

“Save me, O God, for the waters are come in unto my soul.

I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into

deep waters, where the floods overflow me.”

                                                                                    Psalm 69:1,2

And just as I was beginning to give up, considering how many different ways I could fake it till I made it, frantically looking for help and for answers in all the wrong places, just then, God reached out to the depths of my soul, and rescued me.

And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.”         1 Kings 19:11,12

Our lives are full of strong winds, earthquakes and fires we call influences. Good ones, bad ones, positive, negative, destructive, edifying. From the moment we come in unto this world there are voices calling out to us. We spend our lives listening and absorbing and making decisions based on what we hear. We are asked to do things, told to do things, encouraged to do things, tempt to do things. We listen, we follow, we act and react, we imitate and repeat, eventually creating the habits that will shape us and mold us into who we think we are supposed to be. And we call it our life, thinking it is up to us to figure it out.

But life is not a mystery. Neither is our purpose in life.

In this world everything comes with instructions, including humans!

Contrary to popular believe, life does come with an instruction manual! And it is called The Bible! The Word of God. You know, the One with that ‘still small voice’. The One who says:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the     door, I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me.”

 REVELATION 3:20

God didn’t just randomly ‘knit us in our mother’s womb’ one day hoping we would figure ourselves out as we grew up. On the contrary, God knew us before the world was even created! Even then He knew who we would be, what we would look like, who we would become, what choices we would make. Including whether or not we would choose Him.

Yes, He knows us. He knows our frame, that we are dust. (Psalm 103:14)

Therefore He gave us His Word and His commandments, so that we may have direction for our lives!

In the book of Leviticus, God explicitly told the people of Israel which behavior would bring them a blessing and which one a curse. In the New Testament Jesus explicitly told the woman who was about to be stoned for her immoral behavior, to ‘go and sin no more.’

If we want to know what is acceptable in our society, we look to the world. But if we want to know what is acceptable to God, we need to look at what is written in the bible.

Now more than ever we need to turn to that only source of good morality. The only scale that can accurately measure the weight of righteousness against worldly ungodliness.

The bible is my compass and my center. It is the only place where I can actually ‘find myself.’ The bible is my dictionary, my thesaurus. The only place where I can find the answers to all of my dilemmas. It nourishes me, leads me, guide me, strengthens me and straightens me when I fall out of place.

I am not perfect, I’m definitely not good, I fall short of the glory of God every.single.day! And I know that even my very best efforts are at best nothing more than filthy rags. (Isaiah 64:6) I don’t deserve the grace I have been given and much like Job and King David I think to myself,

‘what am ** I ** that You are mindful of me!

                                    Psalm 8:4

To answer the question posted recently of ‘why the bible is my source of morality and a useful guide for my life’, I can tell you all this; if it weren’t for it I wouldn’t be here, I wouldn’t have a reason for living because I wouldn’t know my purpose. I wouldn’t know what is expected of me or how to achieve it. Without the bible I wouldn’t have awareness of sin. See, in the bible God gives His law, and by the law is the knowledge of sin, (Romans 3:20), else we wouldn’t know which ones of our actions were wrong. We wouldn’t know consequences or correction. We would just go through life living recklessly and without hope.

Without the bible we…I…wouldn’t know forgiveness. Without it I wouldn’t be aware of the fact that even when I sin there’s hope for me, because He Is faithful! (1 John 1:9)

Without the bible I wouldn’t know that there is nothing I can do to cleanse myself, forgive myself or save myself, and that the only thing I need to receive any of that is simply to believe!

“For God so loved the world, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM should not perish but have everlasting life!” John 3:16

The bible is definitely a useful guide for my life, and I hope it will be for yours as well! Read it and listen for the voice of truth!

By the way...

I was born again August 7th, 2002, a little over two weeks shy of my 37th birthday J It turns out I did die at 36 after all! J And got the best present ever! I got the gift of life...Eternal life! J

Girl power!

“And of some have compassion, making a difference. And others save with fear,

Pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh”

                                                                                         Jude 1:22-23

Anna’s husband cheated on her, and the world is asking her to leave him. The young mother of four has already been made the poster child of victims of infidelity, in the latest Joshua Duggar scandal. I can’t keep track of how many articles have been posted directed at her on the internet, and each of them with a different version of the same plea: leave your husband!

Rome wasn’t built in one day, and neither is a lifelong marriage. Success, in any area of life, does not happen overnight, neither does it happen without putting up a fight.

A marriage is a work in progress, from the moment one says ‘I do’ until death do you part. Or so it is meant to be, although that is not always the case. I think I can count with the fingers of both hands how many couples I know that are still together with their original spouse after more than twenty or thirty years of marriage, and still have fingers left over. With those I can count how many couples I know that found the perfect match the second time around, and are still together after many years. But I don’t have enough hands or fingers to count the dozens of couples I know that are either divorced or getting ready to divorce or are in their third plus marriage.

Women cheat on their husbands just as much as men cheat on their wives. I’ve known people who have left their spouses and children to go play house with the person next door just to go back to their own place after a few months of sheer insanity, right about the time when the novelty wears off. I’ve known people who have said: “I’ve paid my dues, raise the kids, now is my time to enjoy myself”, as if having been married has been the biggest waste of time in their lives.

Anna Duggar is not alone, neither is she the poster child of infidelity or spouse abuse. Anna Duggar is just another spouse caught in the middle of the same kind of scandal that rocks many households in America and the world. And her desire to remain by her husband, which by the way is no different than Hillary standing by her then President of the United States man, when he got caught cheating on her with an intern in the White House, should not be taken as a sign of weakness. Anna Duggar is a strong woman. Actually, Anna Duggar is far stronger than 99% of the women that are telling her to leave. Why? Because instead of giving up, Anna is ready to fight! And a good fight it will be!

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,

Against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high

                          places”   Ephesians 6:12

The only time Anna Duggar will give up is the day she decides to quit trusting God and seeking His counsel for her marriage. Until then Anna is a warrior! The kind of warrior every household should have.

If Anna, in her anger, hurt and disbelief, packs her bags and leave, she will be no different than any other woman out there who at the first sign of trouble says ‘the heck with this, Im outta here, this is not what I signed up for’. That’s the counsel of the world. That’s what the world advises her to do. Over and over again you read on the internet ‘you don’t have to put up with this; get yourself and your kids out of there; save yourself; protect your children’. In other words, give up.

But thank God for Anna’s faith! And God bless her for standing firm in her convictions! Here’s a woman with a very clear understanding of what a marriage is really all about. Even if she can’t understand the purpose of God, she knows the Word and what it means to be a godly wife. And she knows the importance of forgiveness. Here’s a woman who didn’t just plan a wedding, she signed a covenant and meant it.  Anna knew what she was signing up for, because before she said ‘I do’ she agreed to been there in good times and in bad times.

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ”

                                                                                                                      2 Timothy 2:3

The answer is not to walk away. The answer is to fight for those who won’t or can’t themselves. To stand in the gap between the living and the dead. To ask that God, whose hand is not short that it cannot stretch, will reach to the depths of the pits we sometimes choose to walk through, and plea for the souls that Satan wants to steal.

A warring wife is the watchman of her home that keeps the thieves away, the one who puts out fires and heals her broken bed.

Anna Duggar: You go girl! I hope the world keeps watching as you as you stand upon the Rock of your salvation, in whom alone is hope! That their insults and their ignorance may turn to the praise and the glory of His name!

Living in a fish bowl

He who is without sin, cast the first stone’ John 8:7

No individual in this world is more exposed to judgment than a born again person. Whether they are leaders in the church or just another saved face in the crowd. And no one is more highly targeted by Satan than the children of God.

Ask just about anybody who is born again, what is the very first thing that happened to them right after they confessed and repented from their sins and surrendered their life to Christ. Did they grow wings and a halo? Did they have visions of heaven and hear the hallelujah choirs? Chances are their answer will be quite far from that. In fact, for most new believers the very first thing that will happen is temptation.

See, the moment we decide to leave the world behind to follow Jesus, we become the most coveted target for Satan. If we are no longer in his team, he will do whatever it takes to make sure we stumble and fall. The Bible says that ‘the thief comes not but for to steal, to kill and to destroy’ (John 10:10). Satan wants to steal our joy, kill our efforts and destroy our relationship with Jesus Christ. Satan will tempt us with food, money, material possessions, sex, drugs, alcohol, whatever the eye can see and the mind can imagine. He will make us think about the past we left behind and, much like he did Eve in the Garden of Eden, he will make us wonder if God really said we couldn’t do that anymore. He will make us reason through the most obscure desires and help us find a way to justify why we should just do whatever it is we’re thinking of. And then we find ourselves in a tug of war between our flesh and our spirit. He does all that and more, KNOWING, that much like a goldfish in a fish bowl, the world will be watching, ready for to judge.

The Bible calls us (born again believers) saints, and rightfully so, for we have been sanctified by the blood of Christ. But that is not what the world understand of the word. Many think that a saint is somebody who has never sinned and has special powers to intercede and heal and work miracles and wonders even after death. In reality, there is no such thing.

A saved person and an unbeliever are both sinners,

and the only difference between the two is grace.

One has accepted the grace of Jesus Christ and the other one hasn’t. When one sins he or she is convicted of the sin and they know to repent because the Bible says that ‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness! (1 John 1:9) When the other one sins, he or she laughs it off, shrugs his or her shoulders off and goes on living their life thinking ‘I’ve done nothing wrong’. One holds on to the promises of Christ, the other holds on to the next opportunity to sin.

God called David ‘a man after my own heart’, even though He knew David would one day fall. David’s sin of sexual immorality even drove him to murder, and yet, God forgave him. Sure, there were consequences, plenty and for the rest of his life. But David never lost the love of God, and he knew it. When David was made aware of his sin by the prophet Nathan, the first thing he did was humble himself before God and ask for forgiveness.

“Have mercy upon me oh God, according to your loving-kindness. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquities and cleanse me from my sin, for I acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is ever before me…”
                                                                                                                                Psalm 51:1-3

David got a married woman pregnant, then killed her husband later on to cover up his sin. Everyone in Israel knew about David’s faith. God had proven Himself time and time again through him. Surely when he fell the nation watched and judged.

When news broke that Joshua Duggar spent the last two years being unfaithful to his wife, in addition to having harassed five younger females years ago, including his own sisters, America watched and judged. Here is the oldest of the Duggar family, 19 Kids and Counting, thoroughly humiliated in the sight of everyone, for doing no different than President Kennedy, President Clinton, King Edward VIII, Prince Charles, Solomon, King David and a host of thousands of men all over the world who have fallen victim to the weaknesses of the flesh! When the world finds out about them, they glamorize and romanticize their behavior. They write books about their love affairs and movies by the load! And the world can’t get enough!

But when Joshua did the same thing, somehow he is called a ‘monster’.

Really? In a world where babies are being harvested out of their mother’s wombs for ‘research’, where little girls are being forced into sex slavery and children into terrorist training camps, a world where adultery, nudity and sensuality are fed, daily, in the minds of millions via the entertainment industry, a world that falls short of calling pornography ‘art’, somehow in this world of filth and immorality Joshua Duggar is ‘a monster’. And all I can think about is that, apparently I must have missed the memo that we live in a country that is actually packed with perfect, pure, holy and sinless people! Else they wouldn’t be judging. Right?

Facebook posts like ‘Wow!; I am not surprised; he is such a hypocrite; his wife should just leave him; I knew this would happen; and he calls himself a Christian’, are just the tip of the iceberg on the long and detailed list of adjectives used to describe a man who, for all accounts and purposes, represents men in many households in America, including Christian homes. No wonder Jesus said "by their fruits" you will know them.

The same people that have cast judgment upon him watch the same filthiness on TV and the internet, and do the same things when no one is watching. They just don’t think they qualify to be described as monsters because to them they are doing nothing wrong, which apparently makes it ok for them to sin in the same way but not be judged. Boy, does God have news for them!

Therefore, you are inexcusable, oh man, whosoever you are that judge; for wherein you judge another you condemn yourself, for you that judge do the same things”

                                                      Romans 2:1

Lust is one of the most common temptation Satan uses. Sex is everywhere! Television producers manage to include it in anything from ads for cars, to traveling, to even cooking! The Naked Chef anyone? What does nudity has to do with cooking? Even if the show has nothing to do with nudity, the use of the word ‘naked’ suggests otherwise. It is nothing but a mind game. Show titles like Deviant Maids, Naked and Afraid, Pawnstars, Hardcore Pawn are only used to suggest something other than what the show is really all about. Even female superhero characters are always portrayed as the sexy, curvy, long leg, tiny waist, big chest girl only Barbie can truly appreciate!

So many people judging Josh, while they themselves are filled of the same desires and are carrying out the very same ‘monstrosities! The Duggars never painted themselves as perfect. Ever. On the contrary, there have been numerous times when Michelle Duggar said in the show that her family was far from perfect. And it takes a lot to admit to anyone, let alone an entire nation, that one is not only not perfect, but a sinner. That is not hypocrisy that is humility.

I hope no one in my family dares to point the finger at Josh or anyone in the Duggar family, for anything other than to say they can relate! Because none of us are perfect! Even if our sins are not like his, the amount of poor choices, lapse in judgement and mistakes we have managed to performed collectively as a family over the years, does not qualify either one of us to ever look at another in disbelief for their shortcomings!

The only thing I hope is that we all can remember that once upon a time we were just like Josh, that even though we have been saved by grace, we too have fallen, but when we fall, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness! (1 John 1:9) I hope we can remember that our mistakes did not make us monsters, only humans. And I hope we can all remind others when they open their mouths around us to cast judgment against him, that they too are simply no better. That perhaps before they try to point at the spec in Josh’s eye they should first try removing the beam out of theirs so they can better see what exactly it is they are doing. I hope we can be humble enough to not walk around thinking: that is him, this is me, he is a loser, I am much better. Because when all things are weight in the balance the plain and simple truth is that we have all sinned, and fall short of the glory of God! Romans 3:23

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.”  Romans 7:18-19

Glennon Doyle Melton: MOMASTERY'S BLIND LEADING THE BLIND PART THREE

"Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness." James 3:1

Among the many titles Ms. Doyle has acquired, the one that gets me the most is Sunday school teacher. To think that this woman has been given free access to the tender hearts of God only knows how many children, and that their parents are trusting her to infiltrate their little minds with her insanity, is simply heart wrenching to me.

This is just one more instance where I need to pause and remind myself that God is in control. That He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall have her in derision! (applied from Psalm 2:4)
The day will come when Ms. Doyle will wish she had never opened her mouth to tell a story other than the truth!

Candidly admitting that she doesn’t know it all, Ms. Doyle recounts one time when her husband and her realized that a decision had to be made with regards to how to best handle the things about God they didn’t understand. And that the best way was to simply go back to what they know. And that is that they are reborn. Unfortunately, Ms. Doyle’s idea of reborn is not even in the Bible either!

If Ms. Doyle was truly born again she would know that born again people are new creatures, the old is done away with. And if she was really born again, and a true follower of Jesus Christ, who really truly studied the Word of God with singleness of mind, she would also know that if a born again person falls away, it would be impossible to bring them back to repentance.

"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." Hebrews 6:4-6

Poor Chase, I so feel sorry for him, and his sisters. Heck! I feel sorry for anybody listening to her antics! I feel sorry for every person that follows her blog, that likes what she says and that base their own thoughts on the insanity she posts online. Life is not brutal, but false teachers are!

"But these speak evil of those things they know nothing about, but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves" Jude 1:10

This boy is being raised to believe that being reborn is about being IN the world! Is about understanding the difference between being born into a family and becoming part of another family. The one where everyone is in, good, bad, gay, straight, saved and unsaved. The first one your birth family, the second one your worldly family. He’s being raised to believe the very opposite of what the Bible says, with absolutely no mention of repentance, salvation, not even the name of Jesus.

Like a perfectly thought out fairy tale she tells her kids, you are who you are, do the best you can, love, accept and celebrate everybody, don’t evangelize (thus avoiding stepping in anyone’s toes), pick and choose what you want from the Bible and somehow you too are going to make it into heaven! Because after all, when you are part of the family of this world, everyone is in and that's all that matters!

Jesus has a huge warning for Ms. Doyle and others like her.

"If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." Matthew 18:6

Is only a matter of time, and this false teacher, Glennon Doyle, will be only one ink drop away from telling her children and her followers that Jesus didn’t actually die on a cross, that He didn’t come to save, that He didn’t rise again and that He really isn’t God after all! Remember that what she writes is based on what she chooses to believe, not on the truth or what it really means.

Is amazing how many people are quick to question God’s Word, without praying about it or searching the scriptures, but don’t think twice to click ‘Like and Share’ on any online statement regardless of how unsound and ungodly it may be, all on account of ‘it makes sense’, without paying a degree of attention at what they are agreeing with. Unfortunately, to a person living outside the will of God, not seeking Him diligently and getting to know Him at a deep level, any version of the truth is good enough to believe in and to share, because sometimes that is all they have to hold on to.

And for anyone who’s following a woman whose job is to  ‘wake up every day, say yes to life’s invitation, and let millions of women watch her  get up off the floor, walk, stumble, and get back up again’, for anyone looking up to her enthusiastic yet distorted view of Christianity, the day will come when they too will be stumbling right alongside her and falling right on down the floor, with nothing to hold on to but a blind woman whose only real skill is to lead the blind! And if the blind leads the blind, both shall fall into a ditch! Matthew 15:14

Glennon Doyle Melton: Momastery's Love Wins

PART TWO: MOMASTERY'S LOVE WINS
"So a long time ago, your father and I decided that if a certain scripture turns our judgment outward instead of inward, if it requires us to worry about changing others instead of ourselves, if it doesn’t help us become better lovers of God and life and others, if it distracts us from what we are supposed to be doing down here—finding God in everyone, feeding hungry people, comforting the sick and the sad, giving whatever we have to give, and laying down our lives for our friends—then we assume we don’t understand it yet, and we get back to what we do understand."
                                                                                                     Glennon Doyle Melton

Contrary to Ms. Doyle’s teachings and beliefs, homosexuality is a sin and not everyone is a child of God. Everyone IS His creation, but not everyone is a child of God. Actually, Jesus made a huge distinction between who exactly is a child of God and who isn’t. Blatantly put, He pretty much said that his followers are the children of God and those who are not His followers are the children of the devil, Satan, who as we have said before, according to God’s infallible Word, is the Father of Lies. Therefore, anyone who is a child of Satan will believe what their father is teaching them, because as the child of the devil they have no wisdom, no knowledge and no understanding which is why they actually believe that homosexuality is not a sin, but rather something that should be celebrated! Never mind that God smote Sodom and Gomorrah because of it, according to Ms. Doyle, because is in the Old Testament is pretty much obsolete so no need to pay attention to the story. Instead, focus on remembering that LOVE WINS.

Yes, love definitely wins, but certainly not in the way gays or Ms. Doyle want people to think. Love won long before the Supreme Court decided to allow gays to marry and even long before Jesus died on the cross.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16

That love did not start when Jesus came into the world, or when He died on the cross. That love, my dear Ms. Doyle and fellow readers, started when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and God, in His infinite mercy, killed an animal and made them clothing to cover the nakedness of their shame! And then, as a Father that loves His children, He chastised them, giving consequences according to their actions. To the man to work the land from sun up to sun down, the land that had been freely given as his domain, but this time with thorns and thistles, and to eat the fruit of his labor, his bread, with the sweat of his forehead. To the woman, sorrows multiplied during conception and child rearing, and submission to the one from whom she came. And then He gave the promise of salvation.

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between her seed and your seed, it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel” Genesis 3:15

Love wins. Yes, in the end it will still be love that wins, for God Is Love! But make no mistake about this! God does not love homosexuality nor does he love the unrighteous. Yes, this is a very hard saying. In a world where Christians are taught to believe that we need to love everybody because that is what God would want us to do, to show love, many refuse to believe that the Bible actually talks about how God truly feels about sin, in particular homosexuality. For many it is simply impossible to accept that God can actually hate. Gasp!

Again, make no mistake about this. When Jesus was on the cross, He took upon Himself the sins of the entire world! He made them His own, as if He Himself would have been the one to commit our atrocities. And at that moment, when Jesus surrendered it all on our behalf, He, the one who knew no sin, the darling of heaven, was separated from God if ever for a moment. Why? Because a perfect, holy God could not face the filthiness, the impurity, the ugliness, the wickedness, the immorality, the blasphemy, the darkness, the unthinkable things that Jesus had to bear on our behalf!

THAT, my dear Ms. Doyle, IS LOVE! THAT, is the only love that wins! That a man, whose name is Jesus, would lay His life for the world! And not just love, that is obedience!.

So many Christians talking about love. But isn’t that what is all about? Isn’t that what God wants from us? To love? To not judge, but to love?

God is not looking upon gays with love. God is not looking upon churches that allow gays to continue in their sinful lifestyle, with love. God is not blessing gay marriage. God is not blessing gay adoptions. God is simply not pleased with gays and homosexuality. No, God is not pleased with gender bender surgeries and IVF procedures to help two men or two women become parents. God is not pleased with not wanting to differentiate between male and female and wanting to just be unisex or asexual. God is not pleased with parents allowing their children to choose what sex they want to be. Listen, God is not pleased! Period!

Homosexuality is not only a sin, is an abomination! Gays, the effeminates, the ones who defile themselves with mankind, they are not going to enter into the kingdom of heaven! They’re not! Look it up! Is in the Bible! So stop showing love to the unrighteous and telling people is OK to be gay! That God loves them no matter what! Because that too is a lie that Satan wants you to believe!

“Do not give that which is holy to dogs, neither cast your pearls at the swine!” Matthew 7:6

Do you think that if God loved gays he would have annihilated Sodom and Gomorrah? Did you know that the angels that He sent to Sodom and Gomorrah before its destruction were harassed by gay men that wanted to have sex with them? Did you know that the angels did not go out of their way to show any type of love to them? No! On the contrary! The angels got away from them! They ignored them and got away from them! And then God killed everybody! There was no love there honey! Only judgment! Which is exactly what’s waiting for a whole lot of people at the end of ‘their rainbow’ if they don’t hurry up and repent from their sin! Don’t think love has anything at all to do with what’s going on in the homosexual community!
