"But there were false prophets also among you, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresis, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of" 2 Peter 2:1,2
Apparently, one of the most influential bloggers of our time is a woman called Glennon Doyle Melton. Her blog, Momastery: Truth Tellers and Hope Spreaders, is one of the most widely followed blogs around! And not surprisingly. For nothing spreads faster than a fire like a lie!
“A little leaven leavens the whole lump”
Galatians 5:9
One of the biggest lies Satan has planted into the hearts and minds of unsaved people and spiritually weak Christians, is to think a person can actually be a Christian and still go against the very things they claim to believe. Remember, Satan himself can transform into an angel of light. Satan is the father of lies. He knows the scriptures and he knows how to use them to his advantage, which means he will always use them to bring confusion, especially to people who claim to believe in God but are not actually in the will of God, because those who do not believe in God are already on Satan’s side, so why bother with them. The idea is to make a person take a double look at what God says, and then question ‘Did He really say that? If Satan can get a person to second guess God, then Satan has their attention. And once Satan has a person’s attention there is nothing he will not put in front of that person to confuse them and to tempt them, that the person will not fall for. Once the door is open Satan will always know when and how to enter. And that is Satan’s bait!
“The thief comes not but to steal, to kill and to destroy…”
John 10:10
Is that not what he did in the Garden of Eden? He took one, very straight forward, little piece of information that God had given to Adam, twisted it just enough to confuse Eve and then put it out there for her to fall for it. And fall she did, dragging with her the one person to whom God had entrusted His creation. Bringing therefore upon all of us, all kinds of consequences that we are all still paying for today! And THAT is what happens when someone who knows better decides to pay attention to, and follow someone who perverts the Word of Truth!
“But thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift!”
2 Corinthians 9:15
Glennon Doyle is doing just that. No doubt gifted with story-telling abilities, Doyle writes away in her own unique, new age, humorous style, craftily perverting the one thing she claims to love: the Bible. Story line by story line she has created the most fascinating description of what modern day family life is all about, in a Christian household no less, sprinkled with a few drops of Living Water that she’s managed to taint with the toxins of deception. And thus, one family story at a time, Doyle has mastered the art of completely fooling even some elect!
A ‘Christian’ who believes the Bible is wrong in one of the greatest themes covered in the scriptures, sin, she blends the Word of God with the idea that, somehow, what’s good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander! In so many words she basically says that just because is in the Bible it doesn’t necessarily mean is true or applies to them.
In one brief yet poignant paragraph of a letter written to her son Chase, Ms. Doyle remarks that the Word of God, though inspired by Him, has been the victim of generational changes which in turns makes it impossible to discern the original spirit contained therein. She even went as far as comparing it to ‘the telephone game’. You know, the one where a story is told and retold so many times that by the time it makes it to the last person it is a completely and totally different story? More like a version of the truth than truth itself.
In her letter, Doyle tells her son, among other things that:
· Much of the Bible is confusing
· They don’t believe homosexuality is a sin
· That as Christians, they study the Bible and pray, but carefully choose what to believe, based on whether or not it matches their understanding of Jesus’s overall message
· That being born again is about identifying the whole world as ones family, and to make sure to avoid conversations about who’s in and who’s out at all cost! In other words….DONT evangelize!
· Everyone is a child of God
· And last but not least, if you don’t understand what the Bible says, just go back and stick with what you know makes sense.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg….taught at home and shared with thousands, by a so called Sunday school teacher!
Lord have mercy! I know in the last days many false teachers shall rise, but I can’t help being completely shocked when I read some of the craziness they have the nerve to put out there! In those moments I have to take a deep breath and give God the glory as I remember that not everyone that says ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven! And that a real punishment is waiting for all those who teach a doctrine contrary to the truth of the Word of God.
Oh how very terrifying it will be for whoever will be the one to whom Jesus will one day say ‘depart from me, I never knew you’!
I don’t even want to begin to imagine which church or denomination she belongs to. Whichever one it is, is obviously the wrong one. No real ‘Spirit led’ church would ever allow the spirit of Jezebel to infiltrate their Sunday school classes, let alone to teach one!
First of all, there is no such thing as confusion in the Bible! Why? Because in saying so a person is basically saying that God, who is absolutely perfect in every way, is confused with His own teachings and His own doctrine, and probably had no clue what He was talking about to begin with! It would basically be denying the wisdom of God. It would be saying that the part in the Bible that refers to the Spirit of knowledge and understanding, well, that just doesn’t exist because the Bible is confusing and as such there is no understanding and there is no knowledge. There is only ‘confusion’.
I guess Ms. Doyle missed the many memos found in the Bible itself, which clarifies such things. Then again, I am not sure which bible she is reading, which may very well explain why she is so very confused herself!
I guess the easiest way would be for Ms. Doyle to start, well, in the beginning! No pun intended, but is the truth. And sometimes the beginning can be found in places other than Genesis. Like in the book of John, in the very first chapter where it says ‘In the beginning was The Word! And The Word was with God and The Word was God! And later on, ‘And The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.’ Now, if this is too confusing we can then go all the way back to ‘the beginning’ so that we may understand this a bit easier. See, in Genesis chapter one verse one, the Bible says….“In the beginning God...”
Could that mean that God IS the Word? The same Word that became flesh and dwelt among us? The same God who spoke everything into existence, the same God that breathed the breath of life into Adam upon forming him out of the dust of the earth, that same God became flesh, human, and dwelt among us?
Jesus! Who IS God, He IS The Word!
Jesus! Who is the expressed image of the invisible God. The one who stepped down from His glorious kingdom and took upon Himself, not only our human form but also our sins! This Word, This God, is the same who has no beginning and no end for He alone is The Ancient of Days, The Everlasting Father, The Beginning and The End, The First and The Last, The Alpha and The Omega!
HE IS THE WORD!
A Word that Is Alive, recorded for us in The Bible! A Word so powerful that it is sharper than any two edged sword, which can pierce even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart! Hebrews 4:12
This Is THE WORD that Ms. Doyle wants her son to believe is simply…confused.
Again, Lord, please have mercy. For there are still a great many that do not know what they are doing.
This is also the same Word Ms. Doyle claims has changed from generation to generation. Even though Jesus Himself said that ‘heaven and earth will pass away, but MY WORD will never pass away!
Why? Because since HE IS THE WORD and He is alive and has no end, then His Word can never, ever change nor end. Because God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) therefore His Word will always be the same, and will never, ever pass nor change!
And don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise! Not even popular Ms. Doyle!
You are right! I hadn't heard of her until a Women of Faith gathering last month. I am praying for all the lives that are being led astray by her false teaching.
ReplyDeleteI too checked out her blog after seeing her at WOF last week. OH MY! Her first post to a Transgender Teen tells the teen that God is Transgender too and that God created this child to be just like HIM! Then posts a poem where God is a She who says "YES" to whatever the child asks of "HER"!. Made me very sad that WOF would highlight such an attack on the Bible. :(
ReplyDeleteI'm so confused about why WOF invited her onto their stage. I feel like they completely lost all credibility and I can't figure out why there haven't been more women speaking out about this!
ReplyDeleteLadies who found Glennon through WOF please write to them! Although WOF is over, many of those women still have ministries, and others are stepping in to take their places. I too am confused as to how/why Glennon was included in the conference and also how many influential Christians have used their platforms to align with Glennon. It is terrifying to me how many women are finding their way to Momastery and are being led astray. The false teachings are really palatable to a non believer and so many will absolutely miss the message of Jesus as the way, the truth and the life.
ReplyDeletePlease don't stay silent. Speak out to these prominent Christians, in a loving way, and ask for clarification on why they are leading people to these teachings.
I would be interested to know why the bible is your source of morality and a useful guide to your life.
ReplyDeleteHi Dorbel, thank you for asking! It is actually a great question! It has stirred in me a desire to share my own testimony, therefore, instead of just giving a short and sweet reply, I am working on a blog I hope will answer it for you and others. Have a great day! ;) Olga
DeleteHi Olga. I very much look forward to your blog!

Thank you for this! I unliked Her FB page months ago as she was so often contradictory to the bible. I appreciate you speaking out about it.
